Feeling guilty?

It's a irony that for #2 I'm able to do so much more things with a bigger budget as compared to rislin..

And I'm going to be throwing a buffet for liris first month, him using alot more better things than. Rislin makes me feel so guilty whenever I think about it..

I wonder if it's normal or it's because as a kid my mum has always prefer other kids thus I get jealous very easily.. Maybe also that I didn't have a sibling and didn't know much about sharing..

Anyway hope that rislin won't feel that I'm "bias" cause I will try to makeup as much as possible to her..

Now I'm so excited in planning a princess theme for her 2nd birthday! Hope it's possible as it's in feb and hopefully no unexpected things coming up..

<3 my princess

Ah liris is going 1mth in a week but I'm still getting people commenting the same thing when I explained while i was eating that I brought liris for dr visit to them and to the point of a stall aunty almost refusing to give me, my cold drink!

Yeah and the stall aunty tell me all sort of thing saying drink cold drink will be big tummy, what kind. Of reasons also have etc.. And the best part is that I ordered coke, Once it gets "un cold" it will taste bitter.. I don't know why though.. In the end she gave me the cold drink with ice but keep on pass my table and tsk tsk tsk plus keep giving me the murderous stare.. At that point of time I swear I would have literally slapped her but ok la those are my thoughts haha..

I know you all are trying to "help" me but please, too much of good intentions will make a person go crazy literally..

I also encountered another incident is that I walked to buy bread with two babies then the aunties all crowd to see the baby.. Then asked me how old, so I replied 2weeks+.. they were like how can you come out!! You must wait till at least he full month then you are able to come out!!

Bla bla bla if I don't bring him to buy bread for my own and rislin breakfast will they deliver to me free of charge? And if I don't bring him they get to see him meh? And if they so against why crowd over the babies?

Bleahs I swear I get so "used" to these comments.. Will blog morr soon.. Ending off with a picture of liris..

Dear god,
I pray mama have more nehneh milk so jiejie can't drink up all my milk
Yours sincerely,
Liris

Irritated

So this is like my 2nd or 3rd time out with liris and rislin..

I get very irritated with people commenting things like liris is so young why you bring him out, he's still too young to be brought out, he should stay at home till full month, he can only come out after his first month..

First although liris is only 2weeks old now, I would like to shout, shut up! Not everyone is so lucky to have a mum or mum in law to help with 2kids while I need to run errands. And if I tell my mum or husband to run the errand they would buy the wrong things, yes they ran errands for me before..and if I don't go out and buy the things won't automatically fly to me, plus I only bring them out after polyclinic visits or dr visits or when I have appointments, I don't go out unless necessary.

And if you want to see my baby, ask about my baby, go ahead but this is my 2nd baby and Im a responsible mum who knows what she's doing. There's no need for the hundred and million comment of telling me that he's too young to be brought out.

Are you trying to tell me to put liris or both my babies at home ALONE so that i can run errands?isn't that even more irresponsible?

And my confinement isn't confinement anyway.. I still bath my two babies, do housework, do the dogs, take care of liris by my own and rislin occassionally gets handled by my mum and husband...

Arugh i can't explain how much more irritated I am by their comments because they don't understand what it's like being a super mum who has to do everything herself with very very minimal help because her own mum won't even look after both rislin and liris for 1hr so she can go to a "further place" for dinner for her fravoite prata..

Not that I'm majorly complaining over no help but I'm complaining of those comments that I'm so sick of hearing.. Anyway If I rant anymore the whole page would be full.. So ending here not even including experiencing idiots using elbow to try and knock you at crowded places even though it's so obvious u are carrying a newborn carefully avoiding them as u need to get pass them as it's a one way!

Necessaries for new mum

Welcoming a new bundle of joy?Heres my written list of necesaries for mum to be/dad to get for your baby :)

1) Baby bath tub (if deliver at Mount Alvernia is free)
2) Breast pad, get around 2boxes, and if needed get more after deliver since price only difference of 1-2dollar.. Get Pigeon Brand.. so far i only use this brand, find it cheap and good
3) Bath Shampoo and Soap,i used the organic range as its better for baby and not to mention affordable or even cheaper than those "high end" soap for babies.

I buy the brand Baby Oh Baby from www.iherb.com which is not only cheap and for my babies, its better to get organic so that we dont expose them to chemicals and its best to use seperate shampoo and body wash. For first time purchase to get 5USD off (which means shipping free), type in the code WIP900 ..

As body wash chemical is harsher although they state for hair and body, it can harm the hair growth of the hair. Its best to get seperate. Remember, if you would like to get other brands, remember to check if its 100% organic as some of them are not 100% organic yet they "bluff" consumers and write organic. Another brand which is 100% organic is also Natural Baby Organics. You can also get alot of supplements from there which is cheaper. And higher grade.

4) Kotex Maternity Loop about $1.50 from NTUC, and Laurier SuperGuard Overnight Pad, 34MM, 12pcs $4.95.. Usually i put Overnight Pad below and Maternity Loop on top so that if leak will only Stain the pad not the panties, and each time i pee i would throw the maternity loop and change new one. so to keep the wound (episotomy) clean.

5) about 10 pieces of baby small square cloth to clean the drool etc. For my babies`s bath towel as i bath them using the cloth to "clean the body" with water while inside the bath tub, i use making memories hanky as its the softest i could find

6) 5 Big bath towel
7) 5 big cloth/towel/Muslin Cloth to wrap the baby cause sg weather hot.. Receiving blanket hospital will provide, if want just buy 1 or 2 extra to bring baby out with it
8) one pack of newborn pampers, cause they grow out of newborn pampers fast, so dont buy so much.. if needed, get your husband go out buy.
9) Breast pump, to pump after every feeding to increase your milk supply. get ameda brand if you budget, else get medela, from my research these are the two best.. Best is get dual pump, ameda is very affordable for dual pump.
10) Fully breastfed baby, just 1-2 bottles will do. Get BreastFlow bottle as it helps to improve latch and is really like the breast and introduce bottle after 6 weeks, but if ur supply really low then introduce early but get the breastflow from first years brand. Any doubt ask me.
And remember to get Bottle scrub brush as well as tollyjoy/pigeons liquid cleanser (to clean the bottles)
11) If you want to buy brand new clothes for newborn about 2-5 pieces will do as they grow up fast. Then get 3-4 piece of 3-6mths.
12) Ru Yi Oil
13) Go to any medical shop and tell them the liquid to clean baby`s tongue. Use that to clean your newborn mouth and tongue everyday
14) Rear-facing Carseat if you have car
15) Baby Cot ( Dont get playpen)
For baby cot get those that can slide down the side handle to join in your bed and have 2-3 adjustable level
16) Pure corn starch from pureen to use on your newborn as johnson baby powder has talc which can kill your newborn!
17) This is optional but to me is a must have. Now toys r us have sale, instead of 29.90 its only 19.90. Its the first years brand, airflow sleep positional, it will help baby to feel secure and not wake up the sleep from "shock"
18) Prepare a pacifier if you want to but get nuk brand, as its closest to mother`s breast and can only give after 6weeks to prevent nipple confusion from breastfeeding..
19) Get about 5 bibs in case you want to use it instead of the small square cloth when feeding milk and some newborn will vomit/spit out milk after milk feed..
20) If sleeping in aircon room, good to get those whole piece, long sleeve and long pants, cover from top to bottom onesies, called overall onesies too.Get about 2 newborn size and the rest of the size, see how it goes, loose never mind cause they tend to grow fast.
21) about 4-5 pieces of mittens as you need to change daily.
22) Baby Nail clipper
23) Thermometer
24) Baby Wipes, Get about 6 packs, Pureen Brand is not bad and cheap too.. Carrefour house brand the packet ones instead of the can ones, is good too, im using carrefour brand for now.
25) Disposable panties for mummy, you`ll be too tired to deal with everything, get a month supply of disposable panties! For me i bought felancy cotton disposable panties, very comfortable! I bought about 4-5 packs.

26) Beansprout Pillow, Helps baby to cope with the "shock" that newborn has. Can buy from here
www.mumobaby.com

27)Things its optional but good to have:
- Baby swing to make your baby sleep
-Baby Cot Organiser (its a life saver for me as it keeps everything organised)
You can get from here www.mumobaby.com
-Bobby Pillow to make breastfeeding not so tiring
-Stroller
-Mum in mind sling
- Nappy rash cream in case hospital bag never give but if you change the pampers regularly you dont need it
-Musical mobiles, This can be comforting for cranky babies
- Nipple cream for crack nipples ( usually breast milk will help with the healing, just air and put breatmilk at the cracked nipples, its more of a waste $ thing imo)
- A Pot to sterlise milk bottles etc.
- Cotton wool to clean baby face

10 Must Have for New mums/dad

A 10 must have list for new mums
(in my opinon)

1) Ru Yi Oil
(Can be bought at any medical shop, cost around $2.00+)
Its a LIFE SAVER when your baby is crying and having tummy pains. It helps relieves wind. Pour the oil on your hands and rub together "furiously" and give the "heat" to the baby.

2) Ameda Breastpump for the budget mums is around 300+
Medela Pump In Style/Pump In style Advance (PIS/PISA)
(PIS is around 400+ PISA is around 600+)
Good for pumping your milk. These two are the best that i gathered. Medela PISA is the first choice, 2nd choice is PIS and 3rd is Ameda.

Personally I have tried PIS and Ameda, PIS is powerful and able to help me clear my blocked ducts and it would hurt when i pump. I was told that its because my nipples is too big for the standard funnel size thats why it hurts.

And i have bought the personalfit funnel and will try again to review when my PISA is here as i have bought it but yet to be sent to me.

For Ameda, its a pretty good pump and it doesnt hurt when i pump, but the "suction" is too "soft" and cant clear my blocked ducts. It definitely comes behind PIS. But for a normal pumping it will do its job and is as good as PIS but when you have engorgement and blocked ducts, then its definitely not the one even though i turned the suction to the maximum which hurts but cant clear at all!

3) BreastFlow Bottle
(around $9 if i didnt remember wrongly, can be bought at takashimaya)
It helps to correct your baby`s latch and it is the closest to the mum`s breast imitiation. Personally this is my number one thing of must have if you bottle feed your baby breastmilk or formula. Its not only me that felt that it corrects the baby`s latch but mummies all over the world also comfirmed it.

4)Baby Sling
(Mums In Mind Sling/Pupsik Pouch etc, Ranges from 40+ and above)
It help me alot when i carry my baby out for short trips or when she want to carry as its thin and easy to fold to bring out and perfect for carrying newborn and small babies.

Else for bigger babies
Ergo Carrier is around $100+ for one

Its better for older babies and heavy babies, i am able to carry Rislin for at least half a day unlike the sling 3-4hours the maximum. But its cons is that it is too bulky to bring out easily

5)Baby swing
(Ranges from 100+ and above)
I used this for Liris and THANKGOD i bought it. It helped settle him when hes too cranky for me to handle.

6)Cot Organiser
(around 20+ )
I do sell this and i LOVED it! I dont have to bend down to take her diapers and its all organised there, diapers, and wet wipes. Its so much more organised and not so messy yet easy to take.

You can view here for more info and to get it if you would like.

7)Baby Cot instead of Playpen
(from 199 and above)
It is much more sturdy than playpen and i have heard horror stories of baby falling from the playpen as its too filmsy and light.. The sturdy and cheap baby cot can be bought at OG at $199 (if i didnt remember wrongly). Im using it now and it can take her weight of around 14kg(i think) so far.. But its for Liris now.

8)Small Size Mittens
I know this is a DUH but when the newborn is out, i have problems with the mittens flying out. For Rislin and Liris and had a hard time buying the mittens, it can be bought at $1.99 at Kiddy Palace.

9)Waterproof Mat/Pad
To be placed at the baby cot as the baby is always leaking pee/poo.

10) Ear Thermometer
When babies are sick with fever, you dont know when is the temperature when its getting too dangerous and the normal thermometer tend to be too slow in taking temperature and the baby keeps fidgetting/keep pulling away the thermometer.

So pump pump pump has gotten me best friends with engorgement and it's terrible that the pump can't help and I got to hand express out the hard lumps and I'm a anti fan of hand expressing..

I wasted at least 10-20ml in hand expressing and still have so much! Can u imagine how engorged I was and my breast still has a lil lumps but much better..

And to monster number one fan of my breast liris who has a million, zillion expressions and poses, enjoy his pic

And that's the difference between monster rislin and liris.. Yes it's a HUGE difference..

Them sleeping on my bed.. Isn't this such a sweet sight

And liris in his baby cot with mummy's handmade items likepet momo and beansprout pillow

Rislin in her new pjs which she finally got the chance to wear as we just installed our aircon not long and we rarely on..

And finally my pumping supply this morning woke up with huge pain from engorged breasts and everything start all over again..

And I'm so glad I bought this graco swing, it's a real life saver as it helps settles him when he's cranky and I'm too tired to deal with him

He also has lots of grumpy look and this is one of them..

And this is a pic of him wearing the mittens daddy bought for him last minute as the mittens we had currently were too big and it kept flying out resulting in him scratching himself and crying because of it!

He almost drove me crazy doing that..I have no idea why the small size mittens will get lost when I myself washed and pack the items..

Oh and back to my pumping journey this amount is achieved when liris is about 4 days old and my second day pumping which I'm so proud of it

Blogpress has been unstable and after I type out soooo much ready to post it suddenly shut down on me!! Grr so I'm retyping and this time seperating the posts in case the same thing happens.

So... I'm back at home with a 5day old liris and a going 19month rislin.. I'm coping better than I thought though my mum came over to help for a week.. But I'm confident of handling them alone by myself!

And I have since embarked back on my breastfeeding journey, fully breastfeeding liris and pumping out for rislin..

And recently liris loves to comfort latch and it's seriously exhausting me out as during breastfeeding we excret out hormones that make ourselves sleepy.. When I'm already tired I can't fall asleep cause I have tons more chores waiting for me to do..

And rislin didn't show much jealousy or rather very little as I never seen her displaying her jealousy except today wanting daddy to carry her while he's carrying liris..

She also loves to sayang, kiss and carry didi alot after I let her carry once with my supervision and next to her

And when didi cries, she is the first to rush into the room and point at didi looking at us sadly or she will sayang didi while waiting for us to carry didi up..

But sometimes even when didi is sleeping she like to go sayang didi till she poke him somewhere or take his feet up and laugh then he would cry at times..

Really don't know to laugh or cry at this sight

Maternity Photos

Took my Maternity photos on 28 August.. Ironically my semi nude photos look better than my clothed Pictures.. Photographer said is due to my makeup.. But anyway heres the pictures for now.. Rislin is at 18mth+ and i was 35weeks 6days Preggo..

And not to mention i had huge eye bags due to lack of sleep and my eyeliner not drawn well as its was last minute as due to miscommunication i thought it was on my birthday date but no! So i had to rush through with the new eyeliner i bought.. It was a horrible makeup though..

Rislin with my tummy with Liris

I love this picture!

Family Pictures, hubby kinda ruined it as he got a "i want to smile but i cant smile it out" -_-

And of course not forgetting my Princess Rislin
